| dc.description.abstract | This study investigated the factors influencing school administrators’ responses to the newly introduced online application system in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng. Governments around the world are adopting the online application system as a method of rolling out applications in schools. Gauteng Department of Education adopted the online application system to overcome problems emanating from the manual application system. The study used the theory of Planned Behaviour as the theoretical framework for the study. A quantitative research approach was implemented to investigate the factors influencing administrators’ responses to the online application system. A total of 40 questionnaires were distributed to 40 administrators from 28 schools in Daveyton (Ekurhuleni Metro, Gauteng), who worked with the online application system. A self-administered standardised questionnaire was used in this study to collect data. The researcher used the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software version 25.0 and SMART PLS 3.0 to analyse data. The findings revealed that the administrators have significant skills, knowledge and experience concerning the OAS, thus, can effectively move around the system with ease. However, the strength of their capabilities determines the extent to which the system will be accepted. | en_US |
